Barlop has been a family owned small business since 1983 so we know the importance of supporting small businesses throughout your community, city, state and nation. Barlop’s president came to this country from Cuba, at the age of 6 not knowing a word of English, and it was because of the “American Dream and Promise” that this company has been able to thrive and service so many business throughout Miami-Dade and Broward county.
There are over 28 million small businesses that propel our economy. Small businesses create two out of three new American jobs and produce close to half of our nation’s goods and services. We as Americans have the freedom to be innovative, take risks, create, transform and work hard towards success and failures that have defined the human progress. The United States of American is one of the few countries that allow an amplified voice for the small businesses.
This year for National Small Business Week (May 1st- 7th), Barlop will highlight our small business partners throughout Miami Dade via Social Media.
Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation setting aside one week to “recommit to advancing these vital enterprises, and celebrate their contributions to our collective American story.” As Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said, it was small businesses that powered our recovery after the Great Recession.
