Sharp BP-70M31

The Sharp BP-70M31 is the entry-speed A3 mono MFP in the Advanced Series, built for workgroups of 10-30 people printing 3,000-8,000 pages a month who don't need color. It's the same floor-standing chassis as the BP-70C31 — same 10.1" tilting touchscreen, same 300-sheet single-pass DSPF that scans color at 280 ipm, same 650-sheet standard capacity (one 550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet bypass), same 6,300-sheet maximum — minus the color engine. Print and copy at 31 ppm black, first-page-out 5.4 seconds from the platen. Standard PCL 6 and Adobe PostScript 3, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0/3.0, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, AirPrint, and Universal Print all in the box. Cloud connectors for Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox come standard. The right reason to pick this over the color BP-70C31 is per-page cost: mono toner runs roughly half the cost of running color toner on a per-page basis, and if your color volume is under 10% of total pages, you'll come out ahead within the first 12 months. The thing buyers regret: assuming they'll never need color and then having a board member ask for a color report. Plan accordingly.
