The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana established the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation in 1987 with the mission to further assist the financially undeserved Hispanic youth of Miami-Dade County. Since it’s inception, the Foundation has provided thousands of children each year with the opportunity to learn, dream, grow, succeed and thrive through education, technology, health and overall goodwill programs.
Each year since 2014, Barlop has proudly donated and participated in Kiwanis of Little Havana events including the December Gala and the annual Golf Tournament. This organization is one of Barlop’s favorites because helps and contributes directly to our Miami Community. The key to helping the world starts locally. Make an impact in your own community and it will ripple throughout the world.
FACT:
Hispanics are the nation’s largest and fastest growing segment of the population in the United States, but Hispanics have the lowest high school and college completion rates of any ethnic group. The second largest Hispanic population in the U.S. is found in Miami-Dade County, which in turn has the largest minority public school system in the country. The Foundation’s programs are a vital part of the future of the Miami-Dade County community.
